Daniel O'Donnell

Tickets: £39.50, £37.50 plus a booking fee* (*£1.40 per ticket in person/by phone or 7% per transaction online)

Ireland's most popular 'easy listening' entertainer returns to The Sands Centre, Carlisle in May 2014.

Daniel O'Donnell has had a remarkable career - he was awarded an Honorary MBE in 2002 for services to the music industry and has an immense chart history with both record and video sales. To date, he has had 20 UK chart albums and 14 UK Top 10 music videos. His most current chart success with his current album, 'Songs from the Movies and More', puts it in perspective. When the album became a UK Top 10 hit in October 2012, Daniel notched up an amazing record, becoming the only artist in the world to score a hit in the UK album charts every year for the last 25 years. In doing so, he has outshone everyone from Michael Jackson and Madonna to U2 and the Rolling Stones. Daniel has also achieved 8 No.1 hits in the UK music video/dvd charts over that period.

He may be a superstar but Daniel remains as excited and enthusiastic about his work and his fans as when he first launched his career. Daniel has never forgotten that it was the public who gave him his success in the first place, especially as he struggled long and hard to achieve his ambitions: "I feel genuinely blessed to have enjoyed longevity doing something I love and to have been able to have an international career as a recording and concert artist has been the icing on the cake"

A native of Kincasslagh, County Donegal, Daniel's concert appearances have taken him from London's Royal Albert Hall and Dublin's Point Depot to New York's Carnegie Hall and Sydney's Opera House, but he still continues to set himself fresh ambitions and new worlds to conquer.
